Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a prominent construction partner located near the Plymouth area need to add a Sr payroll specialist to their team!
Process bi-weekly or weekly payroll for field and office employees, including union and non-union staff.
Prepare certified payroll reports in accordance with Davis-Bacon and prevailing wage requirements.
Manage union benefit reporting and ensure proper deductions and remittances to union trusts.
Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to track timecards and job costing accurately.
Maintain payroll records, job classifications, and rate tables in accordance with union agreements and project-specific requirements.
Handle garnishments, deductions, bonuses, per diems, and other special payroll items.
Ensure compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws, including FLSA, state labor codes, and union contracts.
Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and assist in audits and financial reporting.
Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams on onboarding, terminations, and benefits deductions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and industry-specific payroll practices.
3-5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 1-2 years in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of union payroll, certified payroll reporting, and prevailing wage laws.
Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Viewpoint, Sage 300, or similar systems).
Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
